Software veteran Jimmy Duan has been ushered into a new role as the Chief Customer Officer of BlackLine, a leading entity in digital finance transformation. In this capacity, Duan's responsibilities will span diverse areas such as the Implementation, Customer Success, Support, and Training teams, in addition to the Strategic Alliances and channels teams. This broad mandate ties in closely with BlackLine's market-leading solutions, designed to deliver more effective automation, financial governance, efficiency, and risk management, especially for CFOs and their teams.

Owen Ryan, Co-CEO of BlackLine, commended Duan's wealth of experience and expressed his confidence in his new appointment: “Jimmy brings a wealth of experience to BlackLine, leading high-performing customer support, technology, services, and sales teams that will be invaluable in elevating our customer experience to new heights. His customer-first philosophy aligns perfectly with our mission to deliver our one-stop solutions that meet the evolving needs of the CFOs team. Partners are a key component of BlackLine's go-to-market strategy, and we expect Jimmy's leadership will be increasingly impactful from a customer growth, success, and retention perspective."

Duan brings more than 25 years of experience marshalling both successful start-ups and solidified public and private-equity-backed SaaS and enterprise software companies. Prior to BlackLine, Duan served as the EVP and Chief Customer Officer of Medallia, a cloud experience management pioneer and market leader. His roles have also included a stint as the EVP and Chief Technology Officer at CallidusCloud, a leading global sales performance management entity, where he oversaw R&D, services, cloud operations, and international market expansion.

BlackLine's reputation as a pioneer in transforming and automating accounting and finance processes attracted Duan to the role. He commended the company for providing unwavering support and premium solutions to its extensive array of organisations through its far-reaching partner ecosystem.

In a statement, Duan said, "The co-CEOs' commitment to customer experience and success resonates deeply with me. I am immensely proud to join the BlackLine team and leverage my passion for customer advocacy to further enhance BlackLine's customer and partner engagement strategies and deliver exceptional value to our clients."

Mr. Duan holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Industrial & Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech, marking a strong academic foundation to match his industry experience.
