Police are investigating a stabbing in Timaru that left a 13-year-old boy in a serious condition.
They said an argument broke out between a group of young people around midnight on 23 December in Maltby Avenue near Westend Park.
St John paramedics took the injured teen to hospital.
Police said they had identified the people involved, but were still working out exactly what had happened.
