Ryman Healthcare Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of Kate Munnings as an independent non-executive director, effective 1 November 2023.

Ryman Chair, Dean Hamilton, commented: “We are delighted to have Kate join the Ryman board. She brings a diverse range of experience across construction, law and healthcare which will be highly relevant to the business while strengthening capability and expertise within the board.”

Ms. Munnings, who is based in Australia, is currently Chief Executive at Virtus Healthcare, which was ASX-listed prior to its take-over in 2022. Virtus provides assisted reproductive services and procedures across 43 clinics and 7 day hospitals in Australia and overseas. Prior to this, she was Chief Operating Officer of Ramsay Healthcare, responsible for the operational performance of 73 public and private hospitals in Australia, with over 30,000 staff.

Ms. Munnings originally started her career as a registered nurse before pursuing a legal career, specialising in construction law and was a partner at global law firm, Baker McKenzie. She then moved to Transfield in a Chief Risk & Legal Officer role before transitioning into operational roles, eventually becoming Chief Executive – Operations for Broadspectrum (renamed) where she oversaw their facilities management, construction and consulting operations for Australia, New Zealand and Melanesia.

She is currently the chair of Digital Health CRC, an Australian government funded organisation that invests in R&D to support the growth of digital healthcare as a means to improve patient outcomes.

Mr. Hamilton added: “Kate will take over the Chair role of the Clinical Governance board committee in due course and we are confident her background will help to enrich Ryman’s clinical care framework and offering. We look forward to welcoming her to Ryman.”
