A person's death in a caravan fire near Kaitaia in Northland is not being treated as suspicious.
Emergency services were alerted to the fire in Peria, east of Kaitaia, around 7.30am yesterday.
Police have completed a scene examination and intend referring the person's death to the coroner.
They say they are still trying to make a formal identification of the person.
