A young father was celebrating his second wedding anniversary in Thailand when he died suddenly yesterday.
Harley Fowler, a crossfit trainer from the Hibiscus Coast, collapsed and died while working out before he was due to fly back to New Zealand.
Friend and owner of CrossFit Hibiscus John Taurau said it was unclear how he died, and that the death came as a massive shock to the Hibiscus community.
He described him as a gentle giant who would do anything for anyone.
Mr Taurau and his wife have set up a givealittle page to support Mr Fowler's wife and their two-year-old son.
A Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade spokesperson said the New Zealand Embassy in Bangkok was providing consular assistance to Mr Fowler's family.
