A 22-year-old man has been charged after drugs were found in McDonald's sundaes from a west Auckland restaurant last week.
Police have confirmed that the individual is not an employee of McDonald's.
The man has been charged with two counts of attempting to stupefy, and will appear in the Waitakere District Court next week.
A McDonald's spokesperson said they believe the drugs were added after the customers left the restaurant.
