It's only week three of the NRL season but the New Zealand Warriors already have a shot at history.
Saturday's victory over the Gold Coast Titans ensured the Warriors have begun the season with two victories, the first time the side has done so since 2009.
3-0? That would be a first if they beat the Raiders in Canberra on Saturday. In their previous 23 seasons the Warriors have never started the year with three victories.
The Warriors best start to a season was in 2003. After dropping the opening game at home to the Knights, the Warriors won their next five for a 5-1 start. They ended up finishing sixth on the table before losing the preliminary final to eventual winners Penrith.
The Warriors last won three straight games in the 2016 season (victories over the Broncos, Knights and Roosters), a year in which they lost their first three games of the season.
Canberra have started the season with two two-point defeats and currently sit 12th on the table, the best of the NRL's five winless teams. However, the trip to Canberra has never been easy for the Warriors.
They have won just three encounters in 15 trips to Canberra including a 20-8 round seven defeat last year. The Warriors last won at GIO Stadium in round two three years ago.
The Warriors also haven't won consecutive games in Australia since 2015.
This Saturday's clash is the start of a tough stretch for the Warriors which also includes an away trip to face the Roosters followed by home games against the Cowboys, Broncos and league leading Dragons followed by a trip to Melbourne to face the Storm.
