Six people are facing drugs and firearms charges after a raid in Huntly.
Waikato West area commander Inspector Andrew Mortimore said three firearms, three airguns and two imitation firearms were found, along with firearm parts and a large quantity of ammunition.
Huntly police, with supported from the Waikato Armed Offenders Squad, police Eagle helicopter and drug detector dogs, searched five properties in Huntly West early today.
Five men aged between 26 and 45, and a 35-year-old woman were arrested.
All are due to appear in the Huntly District Court today facing a variety of firearms and drug-related charges.
As well as firearms, police also found drugs, including 10 ounces (283g) of cannabis and a quantity of methamphetamine, cash and stolen property.
The searches were carried out as part of Operation Talaus and Operation Tumble, targeting drug supply and possession, and the unlawful possession of firearms.
Mortimore noted the increasing amount of violence and disorder in Huntly in recent weeks, which most recently saw a gang fight break out involving machetes and baseball bats.
"While it is only a small group who are engaging in this type of behaviour, their actions have an effect on everyone in our community.
"We are committed to making our community a safe place to be, and disorder and violence will not be tolerated."
Operation Talaus is focused on working with the community to fight anti-social behaviour.
"We encourage anyone with information that could assist us to get in touch with their local police station."
