Natasha Harding has won 50 caps for Wales

Second-half goals from Natasha Harding and Niamh Charles helped Liverpool Ladies beat Everton Ladies in the first match of the new WSL 1 winter season.

Wales forward Harding prodded in through a crowd of Everton defenders after a scramble in the penalty area.

Substitute Charles added a second in stoppage time, pouncing after Ashley Hodgson's shot was saved.

Everton saw Claudia Walker's first-half chip superbly cleared off the line by England defender Casey Stoney.

The winning margin could have been even greater for Liverpool against their Merseyside rivals, who replaced defunct side Notts County in the top flight for this campaign.

Blues goalkeeper Lizzie Durack made a brilliant first-half save from Beth England's header after Jess Clarke's effort had bounced off the crossbar.

    The hypocrisy of this irrelevant sport is unbelievable, it thoroughly stinks.

    The cheek to ask for a 'woman coach'. Imagine if at work you were to advertise a job and say you want a man for the job.

    Thankfully women's football will not last long because quite frankly nobody gives a hoot about it.

    Just listened to your link, and I completely agree that the reaction of the players, i.e. rushing to hug Sampson, seemed to indicate that none of the players were willing to support Eni Aluko, in fact it appeared to be a statement that none of them believed what she had claimed.

    White british males need to stay away from all roles involving direct contact with women, children or minorities. It is clear that it only takes an allegation of improper conduct/racism/sexism for you to lose your job/reputation. Society appears quite happy with this arrangement.

    Ahhh, so now we know the real reason behind the sacking.

    The new England womens team manager must be female, and also black too.

    Its the only way the likes of Eni Eluko wont play the race and/or sexism card.

    No man with two brain cells should wish to coach women's football.

    In the same vein, despite the annual attempts of the media and female football players to put pressure on them, Man Utd must be allowed carry on with their "no women's football team" stance.

    There is no scandal since the FA has no shame.

    When you have a barrister who declared there was not enough evidence to prove whether Sampson is guilty of racism. That should be the end of story. It's his words against her words. Same with Spence. They were not witnesses to each other's alleged racist attacks. So how could there even be a case?

    Shouldn't Aluko confront him on the spot? No...2 years down the line...

    It seems that race and sex are the major issues with England's women's national team. Perhaps, results and team bonding/togetherness need to be placed ahead of attitude, race card throwing, political correctness and all other evils of the modern delicate snowflake dominated World!

    When the BBC first broke the story over Sampson and Aluko it was obvious once they had given Aluko a BBC sympathetic interview platform that they had Sampson in their sights. He was a dead man walking..the drip drip attacks despite being found not guilty only made the BBC more determined that Aluko would win a moral victory and destroy a white male career and life.

    There is no shortage of black players.

    If 'racism' was part and parcel of football this would not be the case.

    If there was a brilliant black coach out there then the idea that chairmen, whose only interest is success and the wealth that brings their clubs, would not employ him/her based on the colour of their skin/gender is complete nonsense.

    It sounds like a mess. Public are not in a position to know what really happened. FA are specialists in mishandling the smallest of affairs. I would still hope that they haven't sacked an innocent man, that would be disgusting. In fact I would expect criminal prosecution against anyone making false claims. Surely Sampson should be able to sue FA for wrongful dismissal if he is in the right.

    The(uncomfortable for some)truth is that women's football only exists because it is bankrolled by the men's game.Not one of the women's teams have the fanbase to support the infrastructure involved in running a club.Rather than being a feminist triumph,it's more like the 1950s when the wife stayed at home and the husband earned the money to support them both.I shall now await the PC police ;-)

    Now I detest it...

    It stinks to high heaven that some 2-bit player that gets dropped can get a mans career ruined by playing the race-card (with no proof). With the BBC and The Guardian gleefully pushing their hate filled PC agendas.

    If you are good enough ladies then maybe join a men's team, that's the employment law that you have fought for everywhere else (when it suits).

    1,400 attendance, similar to the National League!

    Take off friends and family and there's hardly anyone showed up.

    Thankfully this joke will not last very long.

    Womens' football will never develop because a. Women are not interested b. Male fans (the bulk of viewers) are walking away because they are clearly despised for their gender. C. The equality agenda drives selection against gender/race quotas rather than talent/merit.
