The five-eighth has been named on the bench for this weekend's game against the Dragons, with the Warriors desperately needing a lift after their loss to the Canterbury Bulldogs in Dunedin last week.

It's almost a year since Foran played a rugby league match.

He suffered a season ending shoulder injury in May last year when playing for his former club, the Parramatta Eels.

After that, his personal life sprialled out of control, and he was ordered by the NRL to undergo psychological tests before they would allow him to be registered.

Foran has been included in the extended squad for the match and may not yet be included in the team when the final 17 is named just before kick off.

The Warriors are in desperate need of Foran's experience, they've lost their two of their opening three matches under new coach Stephen Kearney.

Skipper Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, who missed last week's match due to concussion, will play against the Dragons.
