Vanuatu have broken their win drought in World Cricket League Five competition, outclassing Nigeria by 110 runs in Jersey overnight.
Jonathon Dunn and Josh Rasu put on 78 runs for the opening wicket and Patrick Matautaava top-scored with 60 as the Melanesians posted 227 all out from their 50 overs.
Jelany Chilia produced a miserly ten over spell of 2 for 12, including five maidens, while Callum Blake was the chief wicket-taker with 4 for 26 as the Africans were dismissed for 117 in the 38th over.
The President of Vanuatu Cricket, Mark Stafford, was impressed with the resilience shown by the team.
"We went from 0-78 to 4 for 84 in a short space of time but we showed the strength of our team to fight back...and that certainly set the platform for us to attack Nigeria and dismiss them for about 100 less than ourselves," he said.
"Jelany over the last six or seven years of World Cricket League has had an economy rate of less than three in all matches and he just continues to be a master of containment and Callum deserved his four wickets - he was on a hat-trick at one stage - and did a great job."

Mark Stafford says after three opening losses it was a great feeling to be back in the winners circle.
"There's a buzz about the team right now. We've just been down into the sea to do a bit of post-match rehabilitation, where it's about six degrees in the water I reckon. That created a lot of fun and bonding is fantastic - our team are all good mates and they're showing it."
Vanuatu face winless Tanzania in their final round robin match tomorrow night.
A win would put them through to the third place playoff, from which the winner will retain their spot in Cricket League Five.
