A man has been arrested after allegedly stabbing two people and aiming a rifle at police in Tauranga last night.
The domestic incident occurred at a Bethlehem home on Saturday night, police said.
One victim received a stab wound to the abdomen and another was stabbed in the elbow, Detective Sergeant Alan Kingsbury said.
The adults were treated at Tauranga Hospital before being discharged.
A 43-year-old man from Tauranga has been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm in relation to the incident, Mr Kingsbury said.
The Armed Offenders Squad was called out and the man has also been charged with presenting a firearm at one of the squad members and unlawful possession of a rifle.
He will appear in the Tauranga District Court on Monday.
A scene examination was being carried out this morning and a number of witnesses were yet to be spoken to, Mr Kingsbury said.
