One person is dead after a fire in a sleepout at a property in Papamoa, near Tauranga.

Firefighters were called to the property about 11.15pm last night.
A Fire Service spokesperson said, by the time they arrived, the sleepout was well-engulfed in flames.
No details about the person found dead inside have been released.
Fire investigators are returning to the scene later this morning.
