Sport: Toa Samoa's Maitua UK-bound

12:50 pm on 2 April 2015

The Samoa rugby league international Reni Maitua has been given the all-clear to fly to England to take up his contract with second-tier club Featherstone.

The Kingstone Press Championship club announced the 32-year-old's signing in December but his arrival has been held up by red tape.

Featherstone says his visa has now been approved and will arrive in time for Monday's game against Sheffield Eagles, although he is unlikely to play.

Maitua played for Australia in 2006 before switching his allegiance and representing Samoa in the 2013 World Cup as well as last year's Four Nations Series.
