Tony Veitch, Eric Young and Richard Turner discuss Steve Hansen's impending contract extention, whether Lydia Ko should win another supreme Halberg and if another NRL team is New Zealand is a good idea.
Hansen's impending contract extension
Tony: We are going to appoint an All Black coach prior to a World Cup. We have grown up.
Eric: I think it's one of the most sensible, smartest things New Zealand Rugby could do in the year before a Rugby World Cup. Take it off the table and all of a sudden that sort of disarming talk doesn't appear in 2015 - a Rugby World Cup year.
Richard: There will be plenty of people out there that will say 'what happens if we lose in the quarterfinals next year?' If Hansen loses a game in a knockout competition, does it make him a bad coach? No.
Can any team match the All Blacks' fitness levels?
Richard: Not only fitness but skill level that's the key. Maybe they can get close fitness-wise but they won't get both of them to the same level.
Eric: I'd throw in another one - the mental strength as well. We now know, since they've been put through the position several times this year, if put in a tight spot they can win.
Does Ko win the supreme Halberg award?
Tony: This year she's gone to another level.
Richard: On that basis, if she won it last year then it's a lay down misere.
Eric: Here's the thing, has Val gone to another level?
Second NRL team in Wellington
Tony: I just don't buy this. I don't see Wellington supporting another footie team. They do not get crowds in Wellington.
