Taupo police are looking for a man they say committed a brazen and opportunistic sexual assault on a teenage girl.
The assault happened on Friday at about 3.30 pm as the girl was walking with a friend on Kaimanawa Street near Spa Road.
Police said the man approached the girl and touched her inappropriately.
Detective Claire Rogers says the man is described as Maori, aged between 30 and 40 and is of solid or overweight build.
She said he may also have a lazy or crossed eye.
