A high-speed police chase through west Auckland on Thursday night ended with the arrest of a man.
Police say a patrol car pulled over a vehicle, which then reversed into them and sped away through Glen Eden at speeds of over 100km/h.
A 20-minute pursuit followed, and despite its tyres being shredded by spikes, the car did not stop until three patrol cars brought it under control.
Officers are searching for a passenger dropped off from the car during the chase.
