Fences that break the rules at Queenstown subdivision will be investigated - council
About 50 Queenstown homeowners have been caught in a council crackdown on non-compliant fences in a new subdivision.  The Queenstown Lakes District Council (QLDC) has written to Shotover Country residents reminding them of the rules and threatening them with a $750 daily fee if non-compliance continues. A council spokesman said the council was undertaking enforcement in a "consistent manner". After 28 days, an abatement notice would be served on property owners under the Resource Management Act requiring compliance before the fee was imposed.
