© 2025 RadioNZ 7:45am Get this Acer gaming laptop with RTX 4070 for a crazy $600 off There are plenty of PC gaming options out there if you don’t want to spend a lot of money. But if you want some serious polygon-pushing power in a laptop, you’re going to have to part with a few Benjamins. This weekend, you can get an Acer Predator gaming laptop for a few less: it’s up on eBay for $899.99, $600 off the retail price.
A couple of things to know before you hit the buy button. One, this is a refurbished laptop, not new, but it’s being sold directly from Acer’s eBay store and it comes with a two-year warranty—that’s double the coverage you get with a new model. (That said, it comes through Allstate, not Acer itself, which might also have a 30-90 day refurb warranty.) I’ve never had any major issues with manufacturer refurbished electronics, but you have to make this judgment call for yourself.
Second, I’d say that even with the impressive power of a Core Ultra 7 155H processor and an RTX 4070 discrete graphics card, 16GB of RAM is a little on the paltry side for a gaming laptop this expensive. And unlike some similarly chunky gaming laptops, the memory can’t be upgraded by just popping off the bottom. (You can, however, swap out the 1TB M.2 SSD for something roomier.) That’s a shame, especially if you’re planning on using this as a work or school laptop and want to run tons of browser tabs, but not a deal-breaker if gaming is your only priority.
Other highlights of the Acer Predator Helios Neo 14 (deep breath) include a 14-inch 2560×1600 screen running at 120Hz for competitive online gaming, plenty of ports including USB-C and USB-A on both sides, a microSD card slot, a full-sized HDMI port, and three lighting zones on the backlit keyboard. Note that the screen isn’t touch-enabled, if that’s important to you. The 74 watt-hour battery is beefy, but don’t expect it to last through marathon gaming sessions with those high-powered parts.
eBay has this laptop listed for $1,125, but discounted with a limited-time coupon code OUTLET20 for extra savings, bringing it down to $899.99. This code only works through April 14th—and Acer’s stock might run out before then—so get your order in fast if you’re interested.
